Moving Tips
There is not one standard guide for every single moving scenario, but these tips will help you to set the tone for your move! Most of these tips will focus on the packing or the move itself, but some may relate to the smaller details we tend to forget.
PACKING

Make sure each box is packed to the brim. No more, no less. You can use packing paper or blankets/pillows/linens/towels as extra cushion.

Pack books and heavier items in smaller boxes - heavier items on bottom, lighter items on top.

Be careful NOT TO PACK hazardous materials, such as: ammunition, explosives, cleaning fluids, paints, gasoline, etc. We kindly ask you to transport these yourself.
MOVING

Label, label, label! Label furniture indicating the placement in your new home; this will make it a smoother transition for both you and our movers.

In addition, label boxes on the sides with the rooms and a brief description of its contents. This will make it easier when you begin to unpack.

Empty out lawn movers and all other gas powered yard tools of fuel, prior to move day.
PREPARING FOR YOUR MOVE

Declutter as much as possible. You'll save time and money by only moving the belongings you truly want. Think about it, this will be less to pack, less to move, and less to unpack!

Pack an overnight bag of essentials to carry with you. This can include extra clothes, toiletries, or anything work related.

Take a picture of how the electronics are set up prior to packing. This will make the set up at your new home easy since you'll know where the handful of cords belong.
KID FRIENDLY & PET FRIENDLY

Make arrangements for your children and pets to be away during move day. This will allow you to be accessible to our team throughout the day.

Create an essentials box for each child and pet, if they will be present. This can include their favorite toys and treats to help them feel at ease.

Update your pets' tags. Your pets will be exposed to new and unfamiliar areas, so if they get lost, it's important to have your most current contact information.
